For more than 74 years, the Heat and Frost Insulators of Local 97 have provided contractors with well trained, highly skilled, insulation professionals. We believe that providing extensive “state of the art” technical and safety training, as well as a substantial health and pension benefit package for our members is instrumental in acquiring and maintaining a quality, professional workforce.
As the world has become increasingly “environmentally sensitive” and energy usage is now a primary concern in the U.S., it is interesting to note that Local 97 has been installing “green technology” for over 74 years. It is because of this that our International Organization has reclassified us as “Energy Conservation Specialists”.
Since 1942, Local 97 members have installed mechanical insulation systems for clients across the entire State of Alaska. Our efforts have helped customers to realize the many benefits of a properly installed mechanical insulation system. These benefits include; energy savings, reductions in operational and mechanical maintenance costs, lower greenhouse gas emissions and increased personnel safety protection.
Local 97’s training and education program continues to provide highly skilled and properly trained technicians for all the mechanical insulation services you may need. Our apprentices learn through a combination of classroom instruction and on-the-job training. Each receives instruction in; advanced math, pattern layout, application techniques, blue print interpretation, workplace safety, supervisory/management skills and more.
If you have an insulation labor need in the State of Alaska, the Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers of Local 97 can help.
